Francis Koroma is a social entrepreneur, philanthropist, student, and speaker working at the intersection of innovation, policy, and community impact. Born in Sierra Leone and now based in New York, his work is shaped by lived experience and a deep commitment to expanding access to opportunity.
He is the founder Francis Koroma Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit supporting youth and families through education, volunteerism, and programs aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the FranTech3D, a venture focused on low-cost 3D-printed housing and water infrastructure for underserved communities. His approach blends practical solutions with long-term systems thinking, rooted in the belief that development must be both scalable and human-centered.
Francis is currently a student at Columbia University, where he studies political science-statistics and engages in research and policy conversations across institutions including Yale, Columbia, NJIT and Borough of Manhattan Community College. He has spoken at global and academic platforms such as the United Nations High-Level Political Forum, UN Ecosoc Youth Forum, Common Wealth; common purpose, Forbes, and the Clinton Global Initiative.
Beyond his professional work, Francis is a writer and storyteller. He is developing a memoir and short film titled Altitude, which traces his journey from Sierra Leone to international stages and explores leadership, resilience, and purpose. Across everything he builds, Francis is driven by one core idea: where you start should never limit how far you can go.
